Rock Pink Roster of Bands

In 2008, the Rock Pink Battle Series introduced us to many local area bands.  We were overwhelmed at the generosity AND outstanding talent that Orlando based bands possessed.  Each round of our battle series had our team listening to literally dozens of submissions and only four could be chosen to play per round.

In the end, three great bands put on stellar performances and although we considered the battle series a great success, we also had a hard time choosing a “best” band from the excellent bands that participated.

We also became very aware that each band participating in the event was very supportive of our mission and there were also band members that shared stories of family members suffering from the disease and their battles to survive.

In addition to the bands performing, many Orlando celebrities volunteered their time to judge the event.  We had radio, television, and musical celebrities all making the battle series a very special event.

Ultimately, we decided as successful as it was, we didn’t feel comfortable using the battle concept for future events, so we made the decision to create a different type of event that generated the electricity of the battle series without having to make very tough decisions on a “best band”.  The Rock Pink Roster Band concept will focus more on community instead of competition.

Introducing the Rock Pink Roster of Bands:

During the battle series we met many bands that carried the passion for our mission and the willingness to donate their time to help us raise awareness and fund a local area breast cancer program.  There were many more bands willing to help than we could even accommodate, which pointed us toward starting a new program that gives more bands a chance to get involved and rewards them for their efforts.

The Rock Pink Roster of Bands will consist of the area’s top rock bands.  There will be no more than 30 Rock Pink Roster Bands in 2010.   All must carry the same passion for our mission to be considered for a spot on the Rock Pink Roster.

Being a Rock Pink Roster Band represents a partnership.  Both Rock Pink and the band will benefit from the relationship and ultimately, the big winner will be the people that we help both by raising awareness and supporting local breast cancer programs.

What does it take to be a Rock Pink Roster Band?

That’s a great question!  Rock Pink Roster membership is by invitation only.  Membership is very limited.  If you are being asked to consider being on the Rock Pink Roster, you are already on your way!
First and foremost, you have to understand what we are doing and support our mission.  Rock Pink is dedicated to bring music and humanity together center stage to raise breast health awareness and support local breast cancer programs.  We are a 501(C)(3) charity.  We are very grassroots.  You probably won't see us at any black tie affairs!  We reach out to a younger demographic to help raise their awareness of a very deadly disease and the need for early detection and breast self awareness as the best defense.

You have to give a little of yourself.  You will be expected to play one benefit show in the 2010 calendar year.  There is no guaranteed compensation, but you do have the opportunity to earn cash through the presale of tickets and the more you sell, the higher the compensation.  Rock Pink Roster Bands are expected to support and promote the show they are in to the fullest extent and sell all tickets given to them.  That’s how we raise coin to support local breast cancer programs.  There may be an opportunity for additional compensation on the night of the show.  There may also be an opportunity to play a second show in 2010.  Opportunities will be discussed as they become available.

Rock Pink Roster Bands are asked to give 6 CDs to the charity.  When a fan makes a donation for a T-Shirt online, they will be given a random CD from one of the Roster Bands.  This helps us raise extra money via online donations and also promotes local music by including a CD in the order!  Your donation of CDs could ultimately increase your fan base!
Rock Pink is dedicated to the Rock Pink Roster of Bands.  Those bands that agree to participate in this program will realize benefits far beyond the requirements.

Are you ready to be a Rock Pink Roster Band? If so, there is just a little paperwork to complete and some input to gather from you on your benefits of “Rostership”!  YOU ROCK PINK!
